Community College of Aurora Colorado Film School is the modern use of the historic Airman’s Club and Community Recreation Center.
Building 965 was previously the Airmen’s Open Mess and Club with a 50’s café and three bars inside when it opened in 1977. What was once a standard 26,000 sq. ft. blond brick building housing one of the top community centers in the Air Force has been transformed into a modern looking film school by adding a kinetic art sculpture and a silvery steel corrugated entry screen at the entry and metal panels inside. With a top staff and state-of-the-art equipment, the school was rated one of the top 25 film schools in the world in 2011 by a Hollywood magazine.
