Take advantage of our pockets of unseasonal weather to clean up your trees and bushes—remove dead branches and trim overhang to a minimum of 8’ clearance over sidewalks and streets. It’s also important to remember to water your trees in the winter—this counts as a drought. And if this dry, windy weather makes you nervous about fires? A) same; B) clear those dead branches, gather up and dispose of the piles of dead leaves, and take an overall good look for anything that could act as kindling. Together, we can keep each other safe and the tree canopy happy. ![]()

For more than half a century, the Lowry Air Force Base served our country by preparing military warriors from all branches of the U.S. and Allied Forces. During its 57-year span, military veterans acquired technical skills to sustain Air Force operations through World War II, the Korean War, the Cold War and Vietnam.
