Bonfils Blood Center is the modern use of the historic Base Commissary
Building No. 640 was once the major Base Commissary also home to many military families for shopping and it supported base dining facilities when it opened in 1953. The very standard, large blond brick facility has been completely remodeled and modernized to become the stylistic Bonfils Blood center with a cubistic glass entry. Housing many labs and areas for bloodwork it is a welcome change for the staff since their moving from cramped office space on the old University of Colorado Health Sciences Center on Colorado Boulevard.
