Lowry Foundation Speakers Series–Fairmount Cemetary History and Heritage

“The Lowry Speaker Series presents “Fairmount Cemetery: History and Heritage” on Tuesday, October 28, 2014 from 7:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. at the Eisenhower Chapel, 293 Roslyn Street (on Lowry).  Admission is free; no reservations are necessary.
The Fairmount Heritage Foundation, the official stewards for the preservation of historic Fairmount Cemetery (bordered by Alameda Avenue, Quebec Street and Fairmount Drive), will discuss this historical Denver landmark.  Come learn about the history and heritage of the buildings, sculptures and architecture of the cemetery; Fairmount as Colorado’s largest arboretum and location one of the largest collection of Heritage Roses in North America; the history of the final resting place of many of Colorado’s prominent and colorful citizens; the military cemetery areas of Fairmount; and Fairmount as an urban wildlife habitat.
