LCMA Playgrounds are CLOSED.
LCMA Park Playgrounds are currently CLOSED. This includes all play structures, swing sets, benches, and picnic tables at Mustang and Liberator Park (the 9th Ave pocket parks), Tailwind Park, and Sunset Park. Over the last several weeks, the playgrounds have been caution taped, caution taped again, caution taped again, zip-tied, and signage posted, but all of that is getting taken down within days. We will be posting another round of signage next week – PLEASE don’t remove the signs. We are aware that Denver Parks & Rec have re-opened their playgrounds. DP&R playgrounds in Lowry can be found at Crescent Park, Ulaanbaatar Park, Bayaud Park, the Lowry Sports Park, and the Great Lawn. The LCMA has sought direction from CDPHE, DDPHE, City Council, DP&R, and the City Attorney’s office on re-opening playgrounds. The summary of many emails, phone calls, and Zoom meetings is this – per the Colorado Dpt of Public Health and Environment, there is NO WAY to make outdoor playgrounds and park furniture safe short of sanitizing everything after each use. Now, as Colorado and Denver prepare for another surge in COVID cases, we have been told that it is unlikely that CDPHE will change its guidelines soon. LCMA *parks* are open for outdoor recreation that follows guidelines set forth in the State of Colorado’s Safer at Home and in the Vast, Great Outdoors Public Health Order. The latest version of this was put into effect on Tuesday and can be found here: https://drive.google.com/file/
Thank you for being such great neighbors, Lowry!
